You can create wizards like in VC++ App Wizard. Wizard Pages are a few pages that you can navigate with BACK-NEXT buttons. And anytime you can click CANCEL to exit. In the last page (or may be in any suitable page) you can select FINISH.
To prepare Wizard Pages with CPropertyPage and CPropertySheet classes is so easy I also attached a sample, just click the StartMyWizard menu that in the last order.

Step1:
Create 3 dialog resources. Then using Class Wizard create 3 new classes derived from CPropertyPage named CPage1, CPage2, CPage3. Page1 includes an edit box associated with a m_edit variable named, Page2 includes a check box associated with a variable m_check.
Step2:
Create a menu resource ID named StartMyWizard and fill its implementation as below... ( Do not forget to #include "Page1.h" , "Page2.h" , "Page3.h" )
void CMainFrame::OnMywizardStartwizard() { CPropertySheet dlg(_T("MindCracker Wizard by bulentozkir@hotmail.com"), this, 0); CPage1 page1; CPage2 page2; CPage3 page3; dlg.AddPage(&page1); dlg.AddPage(&page2); dlg.AddPage(&page3); dlg.SetWizardMode(); /* SetWizardMode()
Call this member function to establish a property page as a wizard. A key characteristic of a wizard property page is that the user navigates using Next or Finish, Back, and Cancel buttons instead of tabs.
Call SetWizardMode before calling DoModal. After you call SetWizardMode, DoModal will return either ID_WIZFINISH (if the user closes with the Finish button) or IDCANCEL.
SetWizardMode sets the PSF_WIZARD flag. */ if(ID_WIZFINISH == dlg.DoModal()) TRACE(_T("Edit:%s - Check:%d\n"), page1.m_edit, page2.m_check); }
Step3:
Fill the OnSetAcive , OnWizardNext, OnWizardBack message handlers like below in your CPropertyPage derived subclasses, CPage1, CPage2, CPage3. You can do all this with the help of Class Wizard easily.
BOOL CPage2::OnSetActive() { CPropertySheet* parent = (CPropertySheet*)GetParent(); parent->SetWizardButtons(PSWIZB_BACK | PSWIZB_NEXT); /* A set of flags that customize the function and appearance of the wizard buttons. This parameter can be a combination of the following values:
PSWIZB_BACK Back button PSWIZB_NEXT Next button PSWIZB_FINISH Finish button PSWIZB_DISABLEDFINISH Disabled Finish button */ return CPropertyPage::OnSetActive(); } LRESULT CPage2::OnWizardNext() { /* OnWizardNext() 0 to automatically advance to the next page; –1 to prevent the page from changing. To jump to a page other than the next one, return the identifier of the dialog to be displayed. */ UpdateData(TRUE); if(!m_check) { return -1; } return CPropertyPage::OnWizardNext(); } BOOL CPage1::OnSetActive() { CPropertySheet* parent = (CPropertySheet*)GetParent(); parent->SetWizardButtons(PSWIZB_NEXT); return CPropertyPage::OnSetActive(); } LRESULT CPage1::OnWizardNext() { UpdateData(TRUE); m_edit.TrimRight(); m_edit.TrimLeft(); if(m_edit.IsEmpty()) { return -1; } return CPropertyPage::OnWizardNext(); } BOOL CPage3::OnSetActive() { CPropertySheet* parent = (CPropertySheet*)GetParent(); parent->SetWizardButtons(PSWIZB_BACK | PSWIZB_FINISH); parent->SetFinishText(_T("Done")); /* SetFinishText( LPCTSTR lpszText)
Call this member function to set the text in the Finish command button.
Call SetFinishText to display the text on the Finish command button and hide the Next and Back buttons after the user completes action on the last page of the wizard. */ return CPropertyPage::OnSetActive(); }
