How to set default button of a dialog box?

SedDefId function of CDialog can be used to set your default button on runtime from your program.

void SetDefID( UINT nID );

Where nID is ID of the button that will become the default.

How to move focus on next contol of a dialog box?

NextDlgCtrl and PrevDlgCtrl functions of CDialog class can be used to move focus to next and previous control. GotoDlgCtrl function can be used to move focus to a particular control.

void GotoDlgCtrl( CWnd* pWndCtrl );

pWndCtrl is the window that receives the focus.

How to close a modal dialog box from your program?

EndDialog function of CDialog class is used to terminate a modal dialog box. You can even call this function in OnInitDialog if you want to close a dialog before it is shown.

void EndDialog( int nResult );

You can pass any value as nResult including return value of DoModal(); Here in my example I am closing my dialog before it appears if DoInit() returns false.

BOOL CLogindlg::OnInitDialog()
{
// Do something
BOOL bRet = DoInit(FALSE);
if ( bRet == FALSE )
EndDialog(1);
}

How to change Font's color of a dialog?

Override OnCtlColor function of dialog and write this code:

HBRUSH CDlgFontDlg::OnCtlColor(CDC* pDC, CWnd* pWnd, UINT nCtlColor)
{
HBRUSH hbr = CDialog::OnCtlColor(pDC, pWnd, nCtlColor);
SetTextColor(pDC->GetSafeHdc(), RGB(255, 0, 100));
return hbr;
}

How to change background color of an edit or text box of a dialog?

Override OnCtlColor function of dialog and write this code and see the results. I have used ::SetBkColor to do
so.

HBRUSH CDlgFontDlg::OnCtlColor(CDC* pDC, CWnd* pWnd, UINT nCtlColor)
{
HBRUSH hbr = CDialog::OnCtlColor(pDC, pWnd, nCtlColor);
hdc = pDC->GetSafeHdc();
::SetBkColor( hdc , RGB(255, 0, 100));
return hbr;
}
