Lists can be very powerful in execution. There are three types of lists:
- ordered lists
- unordered lists
- definition lists
Ordered List
when an ordered list is displayed in a Web browser, it uses an automatically generated sequence of item markers. An ordered list is a list of items which are marked by the numbers in an ordered way. A
tag is used to define a ordered list. The list begins and ends with the tags
and
respectively. An item in the ordered list starts with the
tag. A
tag can contains line breaks, paragraphs, other lists etc.
Example :-

Example of Ordered List :-

January

February

March

April

Unordered List
A list of items, each one preceded by a "bullet" (a distinctive character; typically, a small black circle). A
tag is used to define a unordered list. The list begins and ends with the tags
and
respectively. An item in the unordered list starts with
tag same as ordered list.
Example :-

Example of Unordered List :-

January

February

March

April

tag can contains pragraphs, sublists etc.
Example of Nested List :-

January

February

March

Sunday

Monday

Tuesday

April

May

Output :-

Definition List
Unlike the ordered and unordered lists, definition lists are not based on list items. They are based on term-definition pairs. A definition lists begin and end with the tags
and
. A definition-list term starts with the
tag and a definition-list definition starts with the
tag.
Example :-

Output of example:-

Amit Gautam

My best friend in the world.

Yatendra singh

My enemy on the earth.
