Ismserv Command In Windows Server 2008
This article shows how to use Ismserv command in Windows Server 2008 operating system.
Introduction
Ismserv (Intersite Messaging Server) is command-line tool that is built in Windows Server 2008. It enables messages to be exchanged between computers running Windows Server sites. This command is used for mail based replication between sites by using SMTP over IP transport. each transport is defined in a separate add-in dynamic link library. These adds are loaded in to ISM service and runs on domain controllers performing communication between sites.
Synatx
ismserv [/install] [/remove] [/debug]

Parameters
Ismserv command has 3 parameters:

Description |
/install |
Installs service to the Service Control Manager (SCM) database. |
/remove |
Removes service from the Service Control Manager (SCM ) database. |
/debug |
Runs the service normally rather under the Service Control Manager. |
Example
Run the service as a normal process, not under the SCM, type following command.
