Replication

Replication is a process for creating a copy of your data and distributing objects to one or more data sources, usually other SQL Server databases. The destination data sources could be on the same SQL Server or to different locations like remote or mobile users over local and wide area network, dial-up connections, wireless connections and the Internet. It maintains consistency between databases by synchronizing them.

Replication process includes defining the way you want to move the data, the servers that sends the data and receive the data, and then the data to be copied.
