Some useful tags which are used to create great webpage's.
Division Tag
Represents a division in the document and can contain most other element types.
<DIV ALIGN="value"></DIV> Represents a division in the document and can contain most other element types. The alignment attribute of the DIV element is well supported.
<html> <head> <title>Div tag in HTML</title> </head> <body> <div align="justify"> <p>This text is written using div tag. DIV tag gives more control over alignment over the text over the web page.</p> <p>A great king of a land far away in the East had a daughter who was very beautiful, but so proud and haughty and conceited, that none of the princes who came to ask for her hand in marriage was good enough for her. All she ever did was make fun of them.</p> <p>Once upon a time the king held a great feast and invited all her suitors. They all sat in a row, ranged according to their rank - kings and princes and dukes and earls and counts and barons and knights. When the princess came in, as she passed by them, she had something spiteful to say to each one.</p> </div> </body> </html>
Body Background Color
You can give the background color to the body of the webpage. For example use the code:
<body bgcolor="yellow">
You can give color code also which I will be discussing in my coming tutorial.

Open Links in a New Browser Window
If you don't want people to leave your site completely when they click on links to other sites, you can set the link to open up a new window. The "target" attribute allows you to do this:
<a href="http://www.yahoo.com" target="_blank">Click to open yahoo site</a>
Changing the Hyperlink Colors
non-breaking space Hello how<br> copyright ©<br> quotation mark "<br> fraction one qtr ¼<br> registration mark ®<br> fraction one half ½<br> trademark sign ™<br> </body> </html>
Inserting Images in HTML Pages
You can insert images in HTML pages. The valid image formats are gif, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, tiff, pcx and so on. <IMG></IMG> This element defines a graphic image on the page. It is typically used for inline images
<img src="C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop
\drawing room\room.jpg"> See a small code that uses the <img> tag for inserting image.
<html> <head> <title>Image insertion in HTML</title> </head> <body bgcolor="gray"> <img src="C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\drawing room\room.jpg" alt="Drawing room picture" width="350" height="300" align="right" border="2" hspace="25" vspace="30"> </img> </body> </html>
In the above program
src: It is the location of the file.
alt: This is used to specify some label to the image when mouse move over it.
width: It is the width of the image in pixels.
height: It is the height of the image in pixels. This value can be obtained from a graphics program or can be left unspecified.
If you don't specify width and height it will take default values as image size.
Alignment (ALIGN): This allows you to align the image on your page. The options include Bottom, Middle, Top, Left, Right, TextTop, ABSMiddle, Baseline, and ABSBottom.
border: For giving border to you image. You can specify width from 0 onwards.
hspace: is for Horizontal Space on both sides of the image specified in pixels. A setting of 10 will put five pixels of invisible space on both sides of the image.
vspace: is for Vertical Space on the top and bottom of the image specified in pixels. A setting of 10 will put five pixels of invisible space above and below the image.
Inserting Hyperlinks
Hyperlinks are links that take you to another page or web site. You create them by using the code below:
<a href="http://www.yahoo.com">Click to open yahoo
The default color for hyperlinks on an HTML page is blue, but you can change it to whatever color you'd like by using the link code inside the <body> tag. For example:
<body link="green" vlink="red" alink="purple">
In the above example, hyperlinks will be green, links that have already been visited will be red and active links will be purple. (An active link is one that has just been clicked, so for a split second the link will change colors as the mouse activates it).
Creating Email Links
Creating email links are just as simple. All you need is the "mailto" function to get this to work properly:
<a href="mailto:help@yahoo.com">Email Me</a>
Will be submitting other articles to learn HTML for beginners.
