Delete Text

Delete text or retype text in the Word document is very common. You can type some extra text in your document after delete the some unwanted text this process is called retyping.

Now Question is how to delete text?  So word provide us several method for deleting the text in partially or full content of the word document.

Using Backspace & Delete key

It is very simple to delete the Text by using Backspace & Delete key. This is describe in the below given table.

SN Key & Deletion method
1 Backspace

First keep your insertion point just after the character that you want to delete and then press Backspace for delete the character.

2 Ctrl + Backspace

Keep your insertion point just after the word that you want to delete and then press Ctrl + Backspace for delete the word.

3 Delete

Keep your insertion point just before the character that you want to delete and then press Delete key for delete the character.

4 Ctrl + Delete

Keep your insertion point just before the word that you want to delete and then press Ctrl + Delete key for delete the word.

Using Selection Method

First of all select you text by using the selection method then try to delete the text by using the describe below following method.

1 Deleting Text Between Two Points

Keep insertion point start of text then Hold down the Shift key and click at the end of text Block that you want to delete then finally press Backspace or Delete key

2 Deleting a Single word

Double click anywhere in word for this select a single word and finally press Backspace or Delete key.

3 Deleting a paragraph

Triple click anywhere within a paragraph that you want to delete, and finally press Backspace or Delete key

4 Deleting a Sentence

Hold Down the Ctrl key and click anywhere within a sentence that you want to delete and finally press Backspace or Delete key.

5 Deleting a Column of text

Hold Down Alt key,  and Click the mouse and drag over the column of text that you want to delete and finally press Backspace or Delete key.

6 Deleting a line

Bring your mouse in selection bar area and click on the front of line that you want to delete then press Backspace or Delete key

7 Deleting the Entire document content

Press Ctrl + A and then finally press Backspace or Delete key.

Note: Both side of word window shaded area appear that is called Selection bar.
